Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might be wondering about
Southern California Pet Sitting —answered with care.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, we carry full insurance and bonding to ensure your peace of mind while your pets are in our care.
How do I book a pet sitting appointment?
Simply contact us via phone/text or email to discuss your needs and our availability.
Do you accept last-minute bookings?
As long as we have availability, then YES, absolutely!
Is there a minimum number of nights?
Yes, we have a 3 night minimum.
How far in advance should I reserve my dates?
In general we book about 1-3 months in advance, up to 6 for those who want a secure spot and peace of mind early on. We often have availability between sits or due to cancellations so please check with us even if it’s last minute.
Do you offer meet-and-greets before the sit?
Because we tend to such a large service area, meet and greets are not always feasible. We try to arrive just before you leave for an easy transition. In certain situations we may need to come after you leave, but we have lots of experience with this and know how to “meet” your pup in a way that will help them feel safe.

What dates do you charge holiday rates?
Easter weekend; July 1-8; Memorial weekend; Labor day weekend; Thanksgiving week; Dec 23 – Jan 2.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We appreciate if you let us know as soon as possible if your plans change. If cancellation is made one week or more before first day of sit, then we allow for future re-booking using your deposit credit. Within one week of sit, deposit will be forfeit.
Do you offer discounts for extended stays?
YES!! We prefer longer stays and are more than happy to offer a 15% discount for 2+ weeks of care.
What happens if you cancel on us?
In 21 years we have yet to ever cancel on a homeowner.
What payment methods do you accept and when is payment due?
We accept Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and as last resorts: Wise; Paypal. (We will take a check if you still use them). *50% deposit will be collected upon booking, and the remaining balance on the first day of the sit.

How can I prepare for my sitter?
There are various things you can do to make life easier for your sitter:
🍂 Leave leashes and poop bags in visible sight
🍂 Write out instructions clearly or print on paper. Do not expect sitter to remember verbal instructions.
Include any gate or garage codes; wifi passwords; emergency contact numbers;
vet name and number; feeding instructions; and any other peculiarities for your home and pets.
🍂 Show sitter where main water line is in case of pipes leaking or bursting and a need to shut off the water.
🍂 Let sitters know about any house quirks: showers, lights, hard to lock doors; stoves that child lock; etc.
🍂 Show sitter where plants are to water and any special plant instructions.
🍂 Stash extra trash bags on the bottom of trash cans under current bag
(we spend more time looking for trash bags than anything!
🍂 Its always to nice to make sure sitter has an empty outlet accessible by bed for phone charging.
